ABOUT TALMID
As a producer, my journey is one of faith and discovery. I go by Talmid, which means “disciple” in Hebrew. I have been gifted with an ear and a deep appreciation for music, and I believe it is my calling to steward that gift in a way that reflects the glory of God and the truth of His gospel. I desire to create music that is shaped by and points toward the love, grace, and holiness of God.
Christian music is often associated with traditional hymns, contemporary worship, or gospel styles. While these forms have long served the church well, I seek to engage a generation shaped by electronic music culture with soundscapes that communicate biblical truth in a language they understand. Electronic dance music, when ordered rightly and joined to Christ-exalting content, can be used as a tool for witness and encouragement, reaching people who might otherwise remain untouched by more familiar styles.
Through Talmid, I create Christian EDM tracks intended to be both musically compelling and spiritually meaningful. My goal is not merely to entertain, but to point listeners toward Christ through themes of redemption, hope, and grace. While EDM is often viewed as a secular genre, I believe musical forms themselves are morally neutral; what matters is how they are used and what they proclaim. When governed by truth and directed toward God’s glory, even modern electronic sound can serve as a vehicle for proclaiming His greatness.
This music is meant for everyday life—whether at a gathering, in a car, or in quiet reflection. I hope it provides a setting in which listeners may be reminded of God’s mercy and stirred to consider the gospel. Music cannot save or sanctify on its own, but it can support and adorn the message of Christ, helping to communicate the beauty of the truths found in Scripture.
As a follower of Christ and an artist working within electronic music, I affirm that true worship is defined not by style or instrumentation but by faithfulness to God’s revealed will and the sincerity of the heart that seeks to glorify Him. Scripture teaches that worship must be offered “in spirit and truth” (John 4:23–24), shaped by God’s Word rather than human preference.
The Psalms call God’s people to praise Him with a wide range of instruments (Psalm 150), showing that tools and sounds may vary across cultures and generations. In this sense, today’s digital instruments can be understood as modern tools, just as stringed and percussive instruments were in earlier times. The medium may change, but the purpose remains the same: to exalt the name of Christ.
The biblical call to “sing a new song to the Lord” (Psalm 96:1; Revelation 14:3) encourages creative expression that remains grounded in eternal truth. Christian EDM represents one such expression—communicating unchanging gospel realities through contemporary musical language. Its energy and rhythm can reflect the joy of salvation, while its message must remain anchored in Scripture.
Christian EDM, then, is not a replacement for the worship of the gathered church, nor a redefinition of biblical worship, but an artistic offering aimed at magnifying Christ in the public and cultural sphere. When its message exalts the Lord and the heart behind it is submitted to Him, it can serve as a form of Christian witness and doxological art—declaring that Jesus Christ is worthy of praise in every culture and every generation.
